eXposure Alumni Weekend Preview- February 26th

As we move forward in the 2021 season another weekend is upon us for eXposure alumni.  After a great opening weekend we look forward continuing to follow our former players successes and bringing them to you.  There will be some intriguing things to watch this weekend along with some players looking to continue their strong starts.  Reminder, we can’t highlight every single alum and we will touch on new players and each week.

 

Maddux Houghton and Chaz Bertolani look to continue to be productive for the Lipscomb Bisons.  Houghton added another 2 hits this past midweek against Memphis after a strong opening doubleheader.  Bertolani who anchors the Bisons behind the plate looks to continue his strong start to the season as well.  Ty Jones who got action in game 2 of opening weekend and was 2-4 with a double and 3 RBI. Lipscomb University jumps into action this weekend with a couple different foes with a 4 game stand.

 

Ashton King for the ETSU Bucs looks to continue his hot ways this weekend against UNC Asheville.  King is hitting .357 on the early season with 3 doubles and 2 HR.  Along with King, Ethan Cady is also off to a good start for the Bucs hitting at a .308 clip with a double and triple.

 

Parker Noland and the Vanderbilt Commodores welcome Georgia State this weekend and Noland looks to keep anchoring the middle of the Commodores lineup.  On the early season he has added a double and and 2 RBI.

 

The Tennessee Volunteers will be hosting Indiana State this upcoming weekend in Knoxville.  Camden Sewell who had a great outing last weekend in relief will be looked upon to continue the same.  Last weekend he went 3 innings and gave up just 1 hit and 1 run.  Evan Russell is also heating up after adding a HR in this past midweek action.  The Volunteers are 5-0 on the early season.

 

One name who made a big splash this past weekend was Ky Bush for St. Marys and he will look to continue his dominant ways.  The highly upside LHP went 5 innings in his start allowing 0 runs while also being up to 96 mph.  The Gaels will be at Cal Baptist this weekend for a 4 game set.

 

The Auburn Tigers will be heading to Round Rock, Texas this weekend to participate in the loaded Round Rock Classic.  Blake Burkhalter has been strong in relief for the Tigers having 2 appearances and giving up 0 runs while adding 3 ks.  The Tigers will take on Oklahoma, Baylor, and Texas A&M.

 

Dallas Baptist has a tough 4 game series this weekend with Gonzaga.  Andres Sosa will look to continue his hot start where he was 4-8 in the opening weekend with a HR and 5 RBI.  Kragen Kechely will also be a force in relief for the Patriots.

 

Jacksonville State is getting major production from Freshman Jake Peppers who has gone 4.2 innings in the early season ands given up just 1 hit while striking out 8.  Peppers was dominant this past summer for eXposure and is continuing that with the Gamecocks.  Jacksonville State welcomes Valpo to town this weekend.

 

Carson Newman heads to powerhouse Catawba this weekend and will need Tyler Shaver and Jake Wright continue their ways on the mound.  Shaver went 5.1 innings last week in 2 relief appearances and gave up 0 runs while striking out 8.  Freshman Jake Wright has gone 6.2 innings this season and given up just 1 run while striking out 12.

 

The Flames of Lee University will head to Auburn Montgomery this weekend in hopes of continuing their impressive start of 9-1.  Riley Black, Dylan Standifer, and Justen Freeman look to continue being major forces for the 9th ranked Flames.

 

West Alabama will be hosting Christian Brothers this weekend in a conference match-up.  Gavin Rogers has been a force this early season for the Tigers and looks to continue that trend.  Rogers is hitting .429 on the season with an OPS of 1.529.

 

Miguel Useche has been enjoying a strong Freshman season for the Central Florida College CC hitting at a .375 clip with 2 HR and 20 RBI.  Central Florida who is 16-5 on the season welcomes in Tallahassee CC and ASA College this weekend.
